It sounds like one of two things may be happening:
- Check your windows control panel to make sure the microphone didn’t get muted. It can sometimes happen when jumping between two applications that use the same mic
- Right click anywhere in the report and hit settings, then hit the little microphone icon and make sure yours is chosen and that the audio meter responds when you speak into the mic.
If both of these items look good, try going into your windows control panel to the sounds and audio section. Check to make sure your mic is listed as the default device there. If it isn’t, left click on it and hit the set as default button. Then try recording again and it should work for you. If not, email support and we can assist you further.
We also highly recommend using a mobile phone as the primary tool to create MC videos as a best practice. Here’s a quick how-to video of how Wally Elibiary does it from his desk. This is superior because 1. It’s better quality 2. It removes the issues related to desktop mic problems and 3. This approach provides more creativity and mobility.
